The library Card will be issued to a student at the beginning of his/her career in the University, subject to the rules and regulations of the library
Library Card or Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
The bar coded card should be preserved carefully. Loss of the Card should be reported immediately in the writing to the Librarian. Issue of a duplicate card may be considered in the case of loss on the payment of Rs.25/- for students but cannot be claimed as right. The student will be responsible for books found outstanding in the original card even after a duplicate has been issued.
Materials borrowed should be returned on or before the due date. Overdue charges will be collected in case of delays in return. The current charges for general stock books will be Rs.5/- per day for the first week and Rs.10/- per day thereafter days in text books will invite penalty of Rs.15/- per day.
The borrower will be expected to inspect the books at the time of getting them issued and bring the damage ,if any to the notice of the Counter Assistant, otherwise he/she will be held responsible for any other damage detected at the time of return.
Anyone caught tearing off pages from a book or stealing from the library will be liable for very strict disciplinary action.
If necessary any book could be recalled from any member even before the due date.
Using mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
No discussion is permitted inside the library. Silence, decorum and discipline must be maintained in the library at all time. Reader should talk or discuss in soft tones, as they may disturb other readers.
All personal belonging should be left on the shelf at the entrance to the library.
Textbook and other printed material are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
Books and other printed materials being taken out of the library should be got checked by the staff at the entrance.
No dues certificate will be issued only when all documents borrowed are returned to the library along with library card.
If any book is lost, the borrower shall have to replace the book of the same edition or latest edition or pay double cost of the book after permission from the librarian.
The books/ documents borrowed on the card are not transferable.
Only writing material will be allowed inside the library. Personal belongings such as food, water bottles, loose garments, shawls, umbrellas, brief cases, bags, file covers, etc. are to be left behind at the appropriate place near the entrance of the Library.
Laptop may be carried in the library only with due permission of the Librarian.
Students will consult the Catalogue/OPAC to locate the books on the shelves arranged according to the Class Number in the Catalogue. In case of any difficulty the Librarian/Library Staff may be consulted.
Student will present the library card with books at the Issue Counter for Issue/return.
Misuse of library privilege will be regarded as breach of discipline.
Library Rules for Regular Faculty/Non -teaching Staff
Library Membership Card will be issued to a Regular Faculty /Non -Teaching Staff at the beginning of his/her career in the University subject to the rules and regulation of the Library.

Issue of a duplicate card may be considered in case of loss on payment of Rs. 25/- but cannot be claimed as a matter of right. The member concerned will be responsible for books issued and found outstanding in the Original Card even after a duplicate card has been issued.
Library users would be required to enter their name and other details as specified in the register kept at the Entrance of the library and sign out at the time of exit.
Faculty can borrow up to a maximum of five books from General Stock for 4 weeks at a time. These books could be re-issued if no demand has been raised by any other member. No holding should be exceeded beyond the due date; the delay will invite a penalty of Rs.5/-per day for general books and Rs.10/-for textbooks.
Research Scholars may use the library and get a book issued on the recommendation of his /her research supervisor for one month.
Non-teaching staff may borrow one book from stock at a time for one week.
Loan may be renewed for a further term as applicable only by presentation of the books at the Library Counter provided that there is no other demand for the same.

Loss of books/reports/document should be reported in writing to the Librarian immediately. The Librarian will collate all losses over one academic session and put to Library Advisory Committee to take a view regarding recovery of cost (There will be no exceptions). The Librarian will communicate to and seek approval of the Competent Authority to approve the recommendations of the Library Advisory Committee.
The University Librarian has the discretion to recall any book even before the due date.
The books/documents borrowed on the card are not transferable
Only writing materials will be allowed inside the Library. Food , water , personal belongings such as loose garments, shawls, umbrellas, briefcases, bags, file covers, etc. should be deposited at the entrance of the Library.
Laptops can be carried inside the library only after proper entry in the register kept at the Entrance.
Use of mobile phone, smoking and making noise in the library will be strictly prohibited. The membership of the offender can be cancelled by the Librarian on the spot.
The staff will consult the Catalogue/OPAC to locate the books on the shelves arranged according to the call Number in the Catalogue. In case of any difficulty the Library staff may be consulted for help.
No dues Certificate to the employees/students will be issued only when all documents borrowed are returned to the Library.
The above regulations may be amended from time to time by the Library Advisory Committee.
This is issued with the approval of the competent authority.
